The Staff Accountant plays a key role within Malin’s Finance Department by supporting day‑to‑day accounting activities, month‑end close processes, The position provides hands‑on experience with general ledger maintenance, inventory accounting, and operational support. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare routine journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Support the accounting team in month end close process and reporting
- Assist with daily inventory reconciliation and maintenance in alignment with sales operations.
- Support sales operations through processing Customer Sales Invoices, Vendor Credits and Buy-Outs.
- Assist in gathering support and documentation for internal and external audits
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and standardization efforts across the Finance Department
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree in Accounting or Business required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, comfort working with large data sets; experience with ERP/accounting systems is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience in accounting, public accounting, or finance
- Experience with ERP or accounting software
- Familiarity with inventory reporting, fixed asset management, or sales tax compliance
