The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing financial transactions including accounting, analyzing financial statements, reconciliations, and research.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform monthly/quarterly journal entries in Workday and ensure proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
- Complete financial analysis of related accounts in support of financial statement preparation
- Complete all monthly/quarterly reconciliations.
- Assist with GAAP and STAT financial schedules.
- Assist in the implementation of the financial data warehouse.
- In addition to the above key responsibilities, may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require
Technical Knowledge:
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office skills, specifically with intermediate to advanced Excel skills including filters, pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, insurance accounting experience preferred.
