Outdoorsy Hill Country is a luxury glamping retreat in Stonewall Texas. It sits on 34 acres and features 22 safari style tents alongside other event spaces. It opened in April 2023 offering guests a unique way to spend time outdoors at the heart of Texas Hill Country, right on the Texas wine trail and 20 minutes from historic Fredericksburg. Outdoorsy Hill Country is one of three properties owned and operated by the Outdoorsy Destination Network - Outdoorsy Bayfield, Colorado and Outdoorsy Yosemite, California are RV campgrounds that also feature cabins and glamping accommodations.

About the Role

As the Grounds and Maintenance manager you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the physical space at Outdoorsy Hill Country, ensuring that the outdoor spaces look great and function well. You will also assist with the maintenance and smooth running of our glamping tents and other communal buildings (event barn, bar, welcome center). 

You will work alongside a dedicated and passionate team to deliver a memorable guest experience and have the opportunity to develop an incredible property that becomes an important part of the Hill Country community. You will report to the General Manager and partner with other vendors to fulfill your duties and create a five-star experience.

Facility Maintenance for Glamping Tents & Buildings

  • Perform minor repairs in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to ensure all facilities are in top condition.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in buildings, glamping tents, and equipment, addressing repairs as needed.
  • Ensure lighting, electrical fixtures, and other critical components are functioning safely and correctly.

Guest Support & Service

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, addressing guest issues like leaky faucets or heater problems with care and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the guest experience team to offer friendly assistance that enhances each guest’s stay.
  • Provide overnight support for guest issues, if living on-site.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Flexibility to handle other property needs as they arise to maintain our high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine property inspections and proactively identify areas for repair and improvement.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and chemicals, ensuring logs are accurately kept.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for larger maintenance needs, gathering estimates and overseeing vendor work.
  • Perform occasional maintenance and upkeep on outdoor areas and common spaces
  • Maintain equipment like maintenance tools and ensure safety and service checks on vehicles

Requirements

  • Experience: Prior experience in property or facility maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve maintenance issues with a proactive approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Takes pride in work quality and maintains a meticulous approach to all tasks.
  • Accountability & Ownership: Strong sense of responsibility with a focus on maintaining high standards.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable demeanor with an ability to engage positively with guests.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with team members in other roles to create an exceptional guest experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to work outdoors in all weather, lift 15-25 pounds, and be on feet for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
  • Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license and live within a manageable commuting distance of the property.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Background in resort or overnight accommodation maintenance.
  • Passion for the Outdoors: A love for outdoor recreation and nature, ideally with knowledge of the Texas Hill Country.
  • Community Connection: Appreciation for and familiarity with the Texas Hill Country area.

Benefits

The pay range for this role is $23 - $30 DOE

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with potentially applicable laws. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and bonus dependent upon position.
