About Your Business Area/Department: 

At Amadeus, the Engineering Toolchain organization provides the platforms and services that enable thousands of engineers worldwide to build, test, and deploy software reliably and securely. 

The CI/CD & GitOps Platform team is part of the global SRE organization and is responsible for operating and evolving the core engineering platforms that support continuous delivery, Kubernetes workloads, and GitOps-based deployments at scale. 

 

Summary of the role:  

You will operate and evolve Amadeus’ CI/CD and GitOps platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security for global engineering teams. You will work with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and CI/CD tooling to deliver resilient, automated, and developer friendly platforms. 

 In this role you’ll:  ​

  • Develop and maintain strong technical and functional expertise within the CI/CD, GitOps, and Kubernetes ecosystem, with a good understanding of the Amadeus business context and how engineering tools support it.

  • Work using established procedures, standards, and operational guidelines while contributing actively to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze issues, propose enhancements, and recommend new solutions based on multiple sources of information and technical insights.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders across the Engineering Toolchain Train (SAFe), contributing to backlog refinement, feature delivery, and cross team synchronization.
  • Operate with moderate guidance from management while demonstrating autonomy, accountability, and reliability in the execution of assigned responsibilities.
  • Foster a healthy and collaborative culture within the global SRE organization, leading by example in communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork. 

 

About the ideal candidate:Platform Ownership & Operations
  • Experience operating and supporting CI/CD and GitOps platforms in largescale engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end platform operations, including availability, performance, resilience, and scalability.
  • Hands-on experience administering full application stacks, including OS, databases, datastores, applications, networking, and integrations.
  • Comfortable working in follow the sun operational models for critical engineering tools.

Kubernetes & GitOps Engineering

  • Proven hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GitOps principles and practical experience with ArgoCD.
  • Experience managing Helm based deployments, including templating, configuration management, versioning, and environment promotion.
  • Familiarity with multi-environment deployment strategies (dev, stage, prod), including rollback mechanisms and health checks.

CI/CD & Automation

  • Solid experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, Artifactory, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong automation mindset with hands on scripting experience (Python, Bash, Go or similar).
  • Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, reducing manual operations, and increasing platform efficiency.
  • Familiarity with change, release, incident, and problem management processes.

Troubleshooting & Reliability

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and GitOps pipelines.
  • Understanding of SRE concepts such as SLOs, SLIs, reliability engineering, and observability.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, propose improvements, and drive sustainable solutions in collaboration with other teams.

Security & Best Practices

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, and secure configuration.
  • Experience working within internal security guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Security aware mindset when designing, operating, and evolving engineering platforms.

  • Comfortable working in a SAFe / Agile environment, contributing to backlog refinement and cross team synchronization.
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Languages

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
