Microsoft is looking for an experienced technical program manager to join our Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) team as a Senior Technical Program Manager for the Trusted Technology Group (TTG). The role would sit within a centralized operations group and provide support to teams across TTG including Privacy, Digital Safety Unit, Enterprise Resilience and Crisis Management, Tech for Society, and Accessibility as they engage regulators around the world. TTG is responsible for advancing Microsoft’s trust strategy by engaging with regulators, customers, and other external stakeholders as well as engineering and business and engineering groups internally. TTG also develops and maintains internal standards and contributes to core governance and compliance functions.

Responsibilities

Operations & Intake Management 

  • Manage the vendor team responsible for the triage, routing, assignment, and tracking of regulatory and consumer inquiries received by Microsoft for multiple domains. 

  • Monitor incoming volume of regulatory inquiries across multiple domains and ensure efficient triage and routing. 

  • Ensure timely assignment of regulatory inquiries to regulatory engagement teams, balancing workload and expertise. 

  • Identify appropriate project management for large, high-impact regulatory inquiries from intake through resolution.


Program Improvement 

  • Develop and execute improvement plans that strengthen end-to-end response quality, speed, and consistency. 

  • Drive innovation and efficiency in TTG’s operations, processes, and digital tools, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies where appropriate. 

  • Partner with engineering, support, and other partner teams to identify gaps and inefficiencies surfaced through regulatory engagements. 


Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Monitor the health of working relationships with internal stakeholders and partner teams. 

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve collaboration, communication, and trust across the regulatory engagement ecosystem. 


Guidance & Enablement 

  • Provide subject-matter guidance to the vendor team supporting the Regulatory Inquiries Program and partner functions on regulatory inquiry handling, escalation paths, and best practices. 


Culture 

  • Foster a growth-driven mindset and learning culture in TTG and across CELA. 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Experience in Dynamics CRM.
  • Demonstrated expertise in privacy, digital safety, accessibility, responsible AI and/or related fields, with an understanding of the interplay between these digital regulatory domains.
  • Ability to make risk-based decisions that involve tradeoffs. 
  • Ability to persuade, influence, collaborate, and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Keen interest in Microsoft products and advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. 

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
