We have an exciting new opening for a Senior Systems Engineer. You’ll be given the opportunity to develop next generation products and technologies for the HVAC industry.
As an individual contributor in the E-Cooling business unit, and reporting to the Principal System Engineer, the Senior System Engineer drives the following activities:
Own the requirements and specifications of the HVAC products like the centrifugal refrigerant compressor including the variable frequency drive
Interface with customers and suppliers for system needs and design specifications
Guide system design considering tradeoffs between key product values and cost
Drive platform strategies by identifying common requirements across multiple applications
Drive certification activities for HVAC products
Perform risk analysis for the refrigerant system, and refrigerant compressor systems
Support the development of System Architecture for our electrical products.
Support the analysis of System working with the Quality, Functional Safety, and Design teams (FMEAs, FTAs, etc.)
Support the development of the system integration and validation plans.
Author User Guides for our products to provide to internal and external customers.
Manage technical issues and coordinate through definition of problem statement, root cause analysis, and solution implementation with customers and all cross functional teams
Participate in supplier panel selection, supplier development, and collaborate on supplier strategies.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in HVAC industry with focus on refrigerant compressors.
Product launch and certification experience (UL and CE)
Deep understanding of key product standards like EN 378, UL 60335-2-34, UL 60335-2-40, UL 61800-5-1 and UL 61800-5-2.
Prior experience with requirements management
Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with electrical/mechanical and systems engineering
Understanding of project management
Strong communication and presentation skills, Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work in a global, virtual team environment.
Experience with refrigerant compressor testing and validation.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering.
Simulation experience of refrigerant systems.
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Air conditioning and refrigeration systems
