Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations caliber to ensure the smooth functioning, monitoring, and support of our institutional trading systems. This role plays a key part in maintaining system reliability, performance, and compliance for mission-critical trading platforms used by institutional clients. You will work closely with developers, traders, IT infrastructure teams, and compliance to manage the daily operations and incident response of trading environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Monitor the health and performance of institutional trading systems in real-time.
Proactively identify and resolve system issues before they impact trading activity.
Respond to and resolve production incidents promptly, escalating to development teams when necessary.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative measures
Coordinate and execute production deployments, patches, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
Work with QA and Dev teams to validate changes before release.
Develop and maintain applications/scripts for monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency.
Ensure operational activities meet regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
Maintain records of incidents, changes, and operational procedures.
Liaise between trading desks, technology teams, vendors, and client support teams.
Provide technical training and guidance to other operational staff
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
15 years or above relevant experience with institutional trading systems and protocols (e.g., FIX protocol, market data APIs)
In-depth Equities Low Touch Execution Management business knowledge
Deep knowledge in low latency architecture/framework and experience in High Frequency Trading system
Strong experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Skills in scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl) for automation and monitoring.
Experience in Java, SQL, FIX message protocol, Chronicle Queue, Linux
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, DNS).
Understanding of relational databases (SQL) for operational queries.
Understanding of securities brokerage workflows: order routing, execution, settlement
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Fluent in English and Mandarin (willing to travel to Shenzhen occasionally will be advantageous
