Sr Software Engineer

What's the role?As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of Engineering team in South Korea , as part of HERE Maps and Services organization, and you will operate some location services in South Korea.You will be based in Seoul,South Korea and will report to the Engineering Manager of Map and Service Engineering South Korea team. Your main responsibilities include:

• Performing deep technical analysis and debugging of routing and traffic issues, working across components to identify root causes and collaborating with developers to drive resolution.
• Contributing hands-on to development and improvement of internal tools and debugging utilities (e.g., C++ / Qt-based tools), supporting efficient diagnosis and testing of system behavior.
• Designing and executing test strategies for routing and navigation functionalities, ensuring correct behavior under real-world conditions such as restrictions, speed limits, and complex map attributes.
• Developing, maintaining, and enhancing test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Robot Framework), improving test coverage, reliability, and scalability of validation workflows.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, usability, and other service teams) to ensure high-quality delivery and alignment across routing and traffic services.
• Supporting coordination and quality assurance of routing and traffic services, ensuring consistent validation outcomes and alignment with product and stakeholder expectations.
• Leveraging AI and AI-powered tools to enhance testing efficiency and quality, driving improvements in test automation, issue detection, and overall engineering productivity.

You enjoy working outside your comfort zone and love to learn new technologies.You will have success on this role if you possess the following skills, competencies and experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in software development
• Proficiency the C++/Python/Java programming language
• 3+ years of experience in Testing along with practical experience with test automation frameworks like the "Robot Framework"
• Experience working with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or CI workflows in Gitlab or GitHub. 
• Knowledge of JIRA and test management systems
• Strong communication skills in Korean and English
• Knowledge of location-based services such as mapping, navigation, GPS etc is nice to have
• Exposure to AWS or other Cloud Ecosystems.
