Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This Position is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.

This position is for the role of Program Integration & Execution Project Manager. The selected candidate will be part of a diverse organization of project managers within the Program Integration & Execution Team and will support the investments portfolio within the Modernization Operating Unit.

This role will have responsibility for implementing and maintaining program management processes and tools including, but not limited to, action item management, strategic rhythm, risk and opportunity management, program reporting and compliance, earned value management (EVM), program processes, and metrics.

The candidate will be required to improve their knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. 

Key roles and responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversight and management of Investments portfolio to include NCTA, Indirect, and Capital projects
  • Serves as liaison between program management and responsible engineers/product teams
  • Establish, maintain, and proactively manage strategic rhythm of the organization to ensure preparedness for program and customer deadlines
  • Ownership and facilitation of Risk, Issue, and Opportunity management relative to each investment portfolio
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of tools/templates for monitoring project progress
  • Preparation of status reports and presentations for NGC internal meetings
  • Collaborate across multiple different Functions to ensure all objectives are met
  • Coordinate and manage a wide variety of program level meetings while tracking actions and simultaneously engaging stakeholders to prepare for follow-on discussions and meetings
  • Coordinates with higher level managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents on daily, weekly, monthly and other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience in project management or similar capacity, OR Master’s degree with 6 years’ experience in project management or similar capacity
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with interfacing with all levels of employees and Leadership
  • Active US Government Top Secret clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years) and the ability to attain and maintain program access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in Project management, Program Integration/Execution
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership
  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience
  • SharePoint and Atlassian Suite (JIRA and Confluence) experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
