Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and people leadership for two Agile Scrum teams, driving execution excellence, engineering quality, and predictable delivery of Grid Software products.
  • Define and drive the technical vision, architecture strategy, and technology roadmap across both legacy and contemporary product portfolios.
  • Lead key architecture and design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, balancing investments between sustaining mission-critical legacy applications and adopting modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Oversee development of enterprise-grade software solutions using C++, Java, microservices, cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and containerized platforms.
  • Champion engineering best practices including Agile development, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Partner with architects, product managers, power system domain experts, and global engineering teams to translate customer and utility requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous learning across teams.
  • Drive software quality, performance, reliability, and scalability through architecture reviews, code quality initiatives, and engineering governance.
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering teams through hiring, talent development, succession planning, and career coaching.
  • Lead technical risk management, dependency management, and execution planning across multiple concurrent product initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement while delivering strategic outcomes for the Grid Software portfolio.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in technical leadership and people management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple Scrum teams and delivering complex enterprise software products.
  • Proven expertise in software architecture, system design, technical strategy, and large-scale product development.
  • Experience with C++, Java, cloud technologies, Kubernetes, microservices architectures, and DevOps practices.
  • Prior experience in Grid Software, Energy Management Systems, Utility Applications, Industrial Software, or related domains is preferred.
