Position Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative data manager to join our Research IT team. This role plays a key part in designing, maintaining, and optimising data systems that power CITIC Securities International’s research and business operations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, performance, and scalability of data platforms supporting securities workflows across global markets.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Database Management: Maintain and manage database systems by creating, updating, and optimising tables, views, and stored procedures to meet complex business logic, compliance needs, and operational requirements within the securities domain.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with IT colleagues and business users to understand end-to-end workflows and translate requirements into efficient data pipeline designs aligned with operational and regulatory demands.
Data Solutions Development: Develop and deploy reliable data solutions using Python and SQL, ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of business jobs and automated processes.
Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to time-sensitive data requests by extracting, transforming, and validating datasets while maintaining strict data integrity and confidentiality.
Business Intelligence Integration: Integrate data into BI tools such as Qlik to develop interactive dashboards and visualizations that facilitate data-driven decision-making for business stakeholders.
Performance Optimisation: Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, including latency and query inefficiency, through SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and architectural improvements to enhance scalability and throughput for high-volume transaction systems.
Global Collaboration & Compliance: Partner with onshore teams to advance global system maturity and maintain rigorous data security and compliance standards in accordance with both onshore and offshore regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
8-10 years of relevant experience data engineering, database development, or similar roles, preferably within the financial or securities industry.
Proficiency in SQL and Python, with understanding of ETL workflows and data modelling.
Strong analytical mind with attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and communication skills.
Excellent command of / fluent in both spoken and written English and Mandarin
Experience with BI tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau) and cloud-based data environments is an advantage.
