In the role of Senior Manager of Global Procurement Communications, you have the chance to define the voice representing worldwide sourcing, a vital part of Micron. You will guide communications connecting leadership vision to business achievements. You will affect how thousands of team members interact with our priorities and improve how suppliers and industry partners experience Micron.
In this high-impact leadership role, you will lead a distributed team of communications professionals. You will work closely with the head of procurement, senior leaders, and CEO staff members. Together, you will build compelling executive messaging, strategic narratives, thought leadership, organizational communications, and external engagement strategies. Success requires strong executive influence, business insight, and skill in crafting communications that connect internally and externally. You will support AI transformation, business goals, supplier partnerships, high-profile procurement events, and help strengthen Micron's brand. Your work will be central to shaping and sharing the future of Global Procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and complete Global Procurement's communication strategy, editorial framework, and messaging architecture aligned with GP's vision, strategic priorities, and organizational goals.
  • Establish critical communication priorities and roadmaps that enable consistent, coordinated, and impactful messaging across functions, leaders, team members, and suppliers.
  • Function as a dependable strategic storyteller to the Chief Procurement Officer and senior leadership by preparing executive communications, presentations, leader messages, talking points, and strategic narratives that foster clarity, alignment, and action.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global communications team across different regions, fostering an inclusive team culture and strengthening capabilities while ensuring flawless delivery.
  • Drive strategic organizational communications that translate business priorities, transformation initiatives, and operational updates into consistent, compelling, scalable, adaptable, and actionable communications for diverse audiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships with Global Communications & Marketing, Government & Public Affairs, and across GP to improve message consistency. Provide consultation and implement scalable communication solutions that increase engagement and drive organizational results.
  • Provide strategic advice and shape executive communications, thought leadership, and narratives that influence decisions, align collaborators, and advance Micron's strategic priorities.
  • Take charge of the communications approach, senior messaging, and story development for prominent global supplier engagement initiatives, such as supplier events, industry conferences, and GP-wide gatherings, ensuring a top-tier experience and consistent alignment with Micron's priorities, values, and brand.
  • Own leader communications and communication governance processes to ensure timely, relevant, and strategically aligned messaging cascades throughout the organization.
  • Develop and implement communication measurement strategies, analyze effectiveness metrics and collaborator feedback, and recommend actions that continuously improve communication outcomes and business impact.
  • Drive the integration of AI-enabled communications strategies, data-driven insights, and industry guidelines to continuously elevate GP's communication effectiveness, scale impact, and influence.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Five years' experience in Corporate Communications, Executive Communications, Internal Communications, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related area, including proven leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Experienced in managing and developing teams spread across various locations and cultures. Skilled at forming effective organizations, improving team member skills, and supporting teams to flourish amid evolving business conditions.
  • Demonstrated agility and resilience in navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with the ability to adjust strategies, influence collaborators, and drive outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proven skill in guiding and advising c-suite and senior leaders using persuasive strategic stories, executive communications, and collaboration approaches that support Global Procurement goals in a changing business environment.
  • Experience directing large-scale organizational communications, executive engagement efforts, supplier-facing messaging, and prominent business events while managing shifting priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, storytelling, and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build cooperative relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated business savvy and discernment, with the skill to align communication plans with business objectives and affect decision-making through persuasive messaging.
  • Ability to balance critical thinking with operational excellence. Translate long-term communication vision into clear, actionable plans and successful outcomes. Adapt quickly to changing business needs, priorities, and market dynamics.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to use communication metrics, insights, and feedback to enhance effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • AI-forward outlook with curiosity, adaptability, and learning agility to use emerging AI capabilities, digital tools, and innovative communication approaches that enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong business insight and critical thinking, with the ability to influence and advise C-suite executives and senior leaders through executive communications, strategic storytelling, and collaboration with interested parties.
  • Proven experience leading and developing geographically dispersed and culturally diverse teams, with a preference for an AI-forward approach. Success includes building high-performing organizations, growing team member skills, and helping teams adjust and succeed in fast-changing business settings.
  • Experience directing broad organizational communications, executive involvement efforts, supplier-targeted communications, and notable global business occasions.
