Purpose:
Athene is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to help shape the future of enterprise financial planning and forecasting. This role will play a key role in developing and enhancing sophisticated financial models that integrate investment, actuarial, treasury, accounting, and capital data to provide actionable insights supporting strategic business decisions.Working closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional partners, this individual will contribute to investment income forecasting, scenario analysis, and enterprise planning while driving continuous improvement through automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex business challenges through innovative thinking and quantitative analysis.
Accountabilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise FP&A models that integrate asset, liability, treasury, accounting, derivative, and capital data to support forecasting and strategic planning.
Support investment income forecasting and attribution by analyzing earnings drivers, asset portfolio activity, interest rate scenarios, and actual-to-expected financial results.
Partner across Investments, Asset Management, Actuarial, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Risk, Capital Management, and Technology to ensure planning assumptions and financial models are aligned.
Deliver meaningful financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business insights that support executive decision-making and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
Drive process improvements through automation, AI-enabled analytics, enhanced model governance, and improved data quality and reporting capabilities.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to analysts while fostering a culture of analytical rigor, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
6+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, actuarial analysis, investment modeling, corporate finance, insurance finance, consulting, or another highly quantitative analytical discipline.
Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, investment income analysis, asset-liability management, and translating complex financial data into actionable business insights.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, think critically, adapt quickly, and leverage technology and AI to improve financial planning and business processes.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Professional designation such as ASA, FSA, CFA, CPA, MBA, or other advanced quantitative credential is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Accounting, or related quantitative field
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in FP&A, actuarial analysis, investment modeling, quantitative finance, consulting, or insurance finance
- Highly technical and quantitative with strong modeling and analytical capabilities
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong understanding of financial forecasting, asset/liability interactions, interest rate scenarios, and investment income drivers

- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and process control
- Experience in insurance, annuities, asset-intensive insurance, or asset-liability management

- Experience with planning systems, databases, or analytical tools
