Sr GIS Data Engineer -Python l AI ML l SQL

What's the role?
As a Sr GIS Data Engineer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of HERE’s geospatial datasets and data pipelines. You will work across cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, optimize workflows, and deliver scalable solutions.

• Run, modify, and execute data engineering processes and projects for the conversion and use of internal and external digital sources in the creation and maintenance of the HERE databases and related products
• Assume full accountability and ownership to successfully complete these projects, following existing workflows
• Create new workflows and processes with standardization to be used across teams within Data Capture and Ingestion
• Leverage data engineering technologies like FME, ArcGIS, Python, SQL and others to transform and integrate data, or create products
• Assess and manage the transition of workflows from batch processing to flow
• Provide basic GIS and spatial data consultancy for sources and processes
• Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects to increase efficiency, improve quality, and/or reduce costs within the Core Map Group
• Apply influence within the local team
• Develop an engineering and consultancy mindset with a focus on value and cost efficiency; deliver what is needed as the end result
• Increase understanding of HERE database content, product specification, and the tools and technologies utilized for database creation in general and end-to-end

Additionally, you may have:

• Experience with ArcGIS and FME or similar spatial tools
• Developing knowledge of GIS-related programming languages

Who are you?
You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for working with geospatial data and technologies.You bring:

• Hands-on experience in Generative AI, LLM models, and Data Science technologies
• Experience in GIS, geospatial data processing, or data engineering roles.Strong understanding of spatial data concepts and formats
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, AI ML,SQL, or similar
• Experience working with large datasets and data processing tools
• Knowledge of data quality principles and validation techniques
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
