The Senior Financial Analyst is a hybrid finance role that serves as the primary finance point of contact for an assigned business segment, unit, or vertical, while also supporting recurring monthly finance responsibilities. The role provides financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, reconciliations, and accounting support, and partners with Program Leaders to review performance, investigate variances, and support informed business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Serve as the primary finance contact for the assigned business segment, unit, or vertical.

•  Develop a strong understanding of the program’s financial structure, revenue drivers, expenses, and performance objectives.

•  Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and other key performance measures.

•  Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior periods, and business objectives; research significant discrepancies and trends.

•  Maintain forecasts, planning and operational metrics focusing on defined KPI’s.

•  Consistent communication with the Program Leader to review financial performance, risks, opportunities, and required actions.

•  Support daily and month-end accounting activities, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.

•  Prepare monthly financial packages, variance explanations, and other management reporting.

•  Support financial close activities and validate that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts, periods, business units, and programs.

•  Participate in finance-related system testing, process improvements, and automation initiatives.

•  Maintain process documentation, reconciliation support, and control evidence; provide backup coverage and cross-training as needed.

•  Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects requested by Program Leaders or finance leadership.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and educational experience.

•  Minimum five (5) years’ experience in comparable industries.

•  Ability to work with and create complicated data sets and report on those data sets.

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Certifications: CPA, CMA, or CFA

•  Advanced degree (Master’s, MBA, Finance/Accounting concentration)

•  Prior experience in insurance or financial services

•  Proficiency using Power BI, database management, and SQL Server Reporting Services

The annual base salary for this position is $115k - $130k.
