POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering - Americas. As part of the Americas Advanced Manufacturing Engineering department this position will have significant interaction with the Global and Americas Engineering Design and Manufacturing teams, the plant engineering teams, and the manufacturing plants. This position does not have direct reports.
The purpose of this position is to serve as leader for new product manufacturing deployment strategy and execution. This role will have broad responsibilities to develop and improve regional manufacturing NPI implementation standards and processes. The role will also be responsible for leading or assisting the NPI and related manufacturing programs to ensure a seamless launch at the plants across all functions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and deploy standards and processes to specify expectations for NPI scrum team outputs and manufacturing inputs for the plants to ensure seamless NPI launches.
- Lead and/or advise implementation activities to ensure NPI programs are production-ready and able to be launched with no disruptions to the factory. This includes all relevant operations aspects such as supply chain coordination, data flow processes, labor planning, training, and demand vs capacity and ramp up planning.
- Provide program management leadership for large-scale manufacturing change implementations that impact plant operations.
- Lead and/or consult regional manufacturing design guidance (DFMA) and process reviews (PFMEA) for new product platforms and related technologies.
- Provide oversight and support for product design reviews and prototype unit build events. Lead and/or consult NA regional pilot builds and support other regions, as appropriate.
- Develop and facilitate manufacturing related key performance indicators for Platform NPI launch teams.
- Collaborate with Global and other regional teams to foster benchmarking and best practice sharing.
- Support manufacturing strategy and deployment activities.
- Develop and deliver data-driven presentations to senior management.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline; Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical preferred
- 10 years of experience in like industry: sheet metal fabrication and assembly
- Deep understanding and experience with manufacturing operations and factory management
- Deep understanding and experience with supply chain and material flow & replenishment methodologies
- Demonstrated expertise with employing Lean and continuous improvement tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills, experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated strong engineering skills, including 2D/3D CAD design and GD&T experience.
- Demonstrated collaborator, implementing new products/technologies in all operating regions.
- Demonstrated proficiency for data collection, analysis, presentation, and decision making.
- Experience with DFMA and PFMEA
- Experience with change management methodologies preferred.
- Experience with industrial equipment, automation & IoT preferred.

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $124,500 to $213,300.
