Job Summary
The Senior Director, Finance (SBTPG) is the senior finance leader dedicated to the SBTPG business, responsible for financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision support in close partnership with SBTPG leadership and enterprise finance.
This role drives business performance through strong analytics, disciplined financial management, and scalable operating rhythms, while supporting effective controls and risk management across SBTPG’s financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & Business Partnership
Lead SBTPG finance planning and support business strategy execution by translating priorities into annual operating plans, forecasts, and actionable insights.
Serve as a key partner to SBTPG leadership, providing data-driven recommendations to improve growth, profitability, and efficiency.
Build strong cross-functional partnerships (product, operations, risk/compliance, technology) to ensure financial considerations are embedded in decision-making.
Participate actively in SBTPG leadership forums, representing finance perspectives and trade-offs.
Planning, Forecasting, and Performance Management
Own SBTPG forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes (weekly/monthly/quarterly), including variance analysis and action planning.
Develop and manage performance dashboards and KPIs; identify key drivers, trends, and risks.
Lead financial modeling for new products, pricing strategies, partnerships, and strategic initiatives; assess ROI and unit economics.
Improve forecast accuracy and reporting efficiency through process discipline and automation.
Financial Governance, Controls, and Risk Management
Support a strong financial control environment by ensuring appropriate processes and oversight across revenue, costs, settlements, and accruals.
Identify financial risks and partner with leadership to implement mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with enterprise controllership, audit, and risk teams to ensure alignment with policies, compliance requirements, and close processes.
Decision Support and Executive Communication
Deliver clear, concise financial insights and narratives highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities.
Support SBTPG leadership in decision-making through scenario analysis and financial modeling.
Represent SBTPG finance in cross-functional and enterprise discussions, influencing outcomes through data and structured thinking.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, primarily through managers and individual contributors.
Set clear priorities, establish operating rhythms, and drive accountability for high-quality, timely deliverables.
Build team capabilities in financial analysis, business partnership, and scalable processes.
Cross-Enterprise Partnership
Partner closely with enterprise finance functions (FP&A, Accounting/Controllership, Tax, Payroll) to ensure alignment with broader processes and standards.
Ensure SBTPG financial processes integrate effectively with enterprise systems and reporting requirements.
Outcomes / Success Measures
Accurate, timely, and actionable forecasts and reporting with improving predictability.
Measurable impact on SBTPG performance (e.g., improved margins, cost discipline, stronger unit economics).
Effective financial controls with risks identified early and addressed proactively.
Clear, actionable financial insights enabling faster and better business decisions.
A capable and scalable finance team with strong execution and growing leadership depth.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPA/CMA a plus).
10–15 years of progressive finance experience.
Progressive finance experience in complex, fast-paced environments, including leading teams (manager through senior manager level).
Strong expertise in FP&A, forecasting, and business decision support; advanced financial modeling skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
Experience improving processes, strengthening financial discipline, and supporting risk management initiatives.
Occasional travel for planning cycles, leadership meetings, and key business reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a high-volume transaction business, fintech, payments, lending, or regulated financial services.
Experience partnering with controllership and audit on revenue, settlements, or complex financial processes.
Track record of improving reporting through BI tools, KPI systems, and automation.
Exposure to operational or client-facing aspects of the business.
