TITLE: Sr. Database Administrator
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: Provide comprehensive Oracle database support in a high-performance, highly available environment.
Collaborate with application and business support teams to analyze, design, and implement complex database solutions.
Install, configure, and manage Oracle database environments on Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Implement, configure, and support high-availability solutions for Oracle databases.
Perform Oracle database patching and upgrades in a heterogeneous landscape, including Exadata, RAC, virtual machine, Veritas active/passive clustering, Data Guard, and Golden Gate.
Ensure optimal Oracle database efficiency by performing database tuning, SQL and PL/SQL tuning, and hardware/operating system consulting related to database performance.
Ensure database compliance with strict audit standards including SOX, PCI, FDA, FISMA, and HIPAA.
Ensure adherence to change control policies.
Manage database security at all levels.
Perform database backup, recovery, and cloning.
Automate and maintain automation for routine database tasks.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a highly dynamic environment.
Travel: Up to 5% travel required (domestic only). Can work remotely or telecommute.
REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study. MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 10 years of Oracle DBA experience on Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms, or related experience. Required knowledge or experience with: Installation, configuration, and management of Oracle databases, including standalone databases, and clustered databases using RAC, Oracle Exadata, Veritas active/passive clustering, virtual machine, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Golden Gate. Oracle Exadata, including configuration, installation, patching, and routine support. Engaging and managing Oracle support and Oracle Platinum support teams. Analyzing and tuning Oracle database environments, including configuring databases for optimal performance and tuning problematic SQL and PL/SQL. Oracle Golden Gate and data replication, including installation and deployment of Golden Gate locally and hub installations, instantiation of replication, and replication troubleshooting. Creating and maintaining automation scripts for routine database administration tasks. Unix/Linux shell scripting required or equivalent experience with Powershell, Perl, and Java. Ensuring database audit compliance, including SOX, PCI, FDA, FISMA, and HIPAA controls. Oracle database backup, recovery, and cloning using Oracle Rman, Veeam, EMC disk cloning, Data Domain, NFS, and Oracle ZFS backup technologies. Database physical and logical design for transactional and data warehouse systems. Managing databases in Amazon Web Services and Oracle Cloud deployments including RDS, EC2, and ATP installations, including resizing, patching, security, and maintenance. Analyzing, implementing, managing, and testing large heterogenous Database Disaster Recovery implementations. Database security including patching, user creation, password rotation, privilege management, profile management, and database encryption. Supporting large ERP systems including SAP, JD Edwards Enterprise One, ecommerce, and large data warehouses. Implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redshift databases. Dissemination of information to both technical team members and leadership, documenting and maintaining documentation for critical processes and SOPs.
Salary: $136406 to $171900 per year
Compensation and Benefits
The salary pay range estimated for this position Sr Database Administrator based in Massachusetts is $136,406.00–$171,900.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10 years of Oracle DBA experience on Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms
- Installation, configuration, and management of Oracle databases including standalone and clustered (RAC) environments

- Analyze, implement, manage, and test large heterogeneous Database Disaster Recovery implementations
