How You Add Value:
Responsible for managing the insurance reviews for all assets within the Blackstone portfolio by working with lenders (and their representatives) providing the complex financing.
Job Responsibilities:

Manages pre-closing insurance requirements of all commercial real estate transactions by liaising with lenders, consultants and brokers on new loan originations on behalf of Blackstone.

Responsible for negotiating insurance requirements based on deal type, loan execution, property geography and lender standards.

Analyzes proposed insurance requirements against the coverage in place to then identify and communicate coverage gaps, if any, to appropriate parties for resolution.

Requests exception waivers, as appropriate.

Liaises with lenders, consultants, counsel and brokers pre-closing to ensure that all requirements are met prior to or at closing so the requested loans can be issued accordingly.

Liaises with Capital Markets and Deal teams to explain and mitigate potential risk exposures by proposing customized solutions, if/as necessary.

Works with our brokers (across the various lines of coverage) to ensure documentation requirements are being met so lender(s) can approve the proposed coverage.

Educates Blackstone & their Portfolio Companies in risk management, risk transfer, market issues, and relevant trends.

Serves as a trusted business advisor on all pertinent insurance issues.

Responsible for deal flow management and tracking, inc. execution type, locations, Portfolio Companies, rating agencies, closing dates and approvals and/or issues.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience
-
5+ years of relevant Property & Casualty insurance experience, and/or Lender consulting
-
Financing or commercial transaction management experience preferred
-
Commercial real estate experience a plus
-
Environmental liability insurance knowledge is a plus

Base Compensation Range:
$105,000.00 To $150,000.00. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
