The Next Generation Avionics (NGA) Engineering organization is looking for a Software Engineer to join our product development group located in Bangalore, India. 


In this role, primary responsible for designing and developing Flight Management Systems software based upon legacy NGFMS product line functionality with transformations required to operate within the NGA FMS Product for Part 23 Class 1 / 2, Part 23 Class 3 / 4, and Part 25 aircraft.

Responsibilities

Job Expectations:

 

  • Good Understanding of Avionics architecture (Software), Product line architecture of Honeywell EPIC, APEX products. 
  • SW architecture design and embedded C++ coding
  • Object oriented development experience
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (DO-178C preferred)
  • Creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development processes.
  • Knowledge of AGILE tools. IBM Rational DOORS NG Requirements Management tool, Atlassian JIRA Change management tool.
  • Support meetings with internal customers/team members.
  • Ensures tasks are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers. 
  • Keep management apprised of program status and roadblocks.
  • Manage efforts based on priorities, availability and commitments.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering with 9 + years of experience
  • Experience in performing software development & testing and DO178 B/C, DO 331 certification activities.

Additional Qualifications: 


  • Avionics background, Knowledge, and experience on DO-178B/C, Aero Process is required.
  • NGFMS software development experience is a plus.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Work well as a member of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of team both locally and globally.
     

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering with 9+ years of experience
  • Experience performing software development, testing, and DO-178B/C and DO-331 certification activities
  • Good understanding of avionics software architecture and Honeywell EPIC/APEX product line architecture
