The Safe Quality Food Specialist – Plant supports the implementation and day‑to‑day execution of food safety and quality assurance programs within a manufacturing facility. This role monitors product quality, manages quality records and investigations, and supports compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements while working closely with plant partners.
What you’ll do
• Monitor and maintain quality assurance documentation, records, and databases to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage product holds, dispositions, and rework coordination in alignment with quality and food safety requirements
• Investigate quality incidents, customer complaints, and non‑conformances, including data trending and root cause support
• Verify completion and accuracy of production, PCP, CCP, and quality documentation
• Support environmental monitoring, calibration schedules, and laboratory or testing coordination as applicable
• Assist with internal, customer, regulatory, and third‑party audits, including preparation and follow‑up activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and quality programs
• Coordinate sample handling, testing documentation, and certificates of analysis as required
• Provide guidance and support to plant partners on quality and food safety practices
• Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned to support plant operations

Education and experience
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational, associate, or technical education in food science, quality, or a related field preferred
• Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, laboratory, or manufacturing operations
• Preferred: 5 or more years of experience in a plant-based quality or food safety role
• Training or certification in food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, preventive controls, SQF) is beneficial and may be required based on site needs
