The Sports Sales Strategy team is an integral part of the Direct Sales organization. We develop, ideate and execute innovative sponsorships across Yahoo Sports full suite of content & product offering to help advertisers meet and exceed performance goals.

A Lot About You

The Sports Sales Strategists are the specialists on our ever-changing sports media landscape. As an Sports Sales Strategy Intern, you'll be partnering closely with Sports Sales Strategy team to learn & assist in the full campaign lifecycle - from pre-sale through campaign set-up and wrap reports

You will have real responsibility, outstanding training, and the chance to learn from the best through 1:1 mentorship in a small team setting. As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience while developing your skills and establishing a portfolio of work.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with your internal partner team to provide outstanding service for Yahoo’s premier clients.

  • Identify proactive opportunities with Yahoo Sports priorities and develop  sales target lists

  • Implement creative ways to build and nurture client relationships, consult on strategy, share performance-enhancing suggestions, and promote our Yahoo products.

  • Develops sales target lists & monitors industry trends 

  • Assist the sales team with proactive outreach and prospecting through research 

  • Collaborate with the team to prepare sales presentations, proposals, and sales materials.

  • Support the marketing team in executing campaigns across various channels 

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of internal materials to promote the updates on Yahoo Sports  

Required Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field, or comparable proven experience.

  • Ability to creatively solve problems and uncover opportunities through the use of data, analytics, and critical thinking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional environment, building consensus with others and leading change amongst peers and senior management.

  • Strong Google Suite and Powerpoint Skills.

The compensation for this position ranges from $24-$52/hr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. Yahoo provides industry leading benefits for our interns including 401k plan, company holidays, and Summer Fridays. Eligibility requirements apply.
