Role
Splunk Solutions Engineers are responsible for the technical elements of the sales cycle, enabling our prospects and customers to understand how Splunk can meet their requirements and becoming their trusted advisor.
As a Solutions Engineering Intern you will be based at the location specified in your contract of employment.
Over the course of your internship you will gain Splunk skills, some Splunk Certifications and develop a broader domain knowledge of Sales, Solutions Engineering and Splunk’s technology and use cases that will give you a detailed understanding of the Solutions Engineering role and enable you to decide if a career in Solutions Engineering is right for you.
Key areas of the Solutions Engineering role that you will gain exposure to include
Delivering standardised technical product webinars
Undertaking technical discovery calls/conversations with prospects to discover and/or validate sales opportunities
Delivering consultative presentations, demonstrations and workshops to help prospects understand how Splunk addresses their technical and business requirements, and how it differs from alternative solutions
How Solutions Engineers own the technical strategy for opportunities they work on
How we determine the most appropriate form of Solution Validation for our opportunities and manage them to a successful outcome
Creating custom demonstrations based on customer use-cases and/or data to demonstrate Splunk’s ability to meet their requirements
Responding to the technical elements of tenders (RFI/RFPs) where sales and technical management have determined it is appropriate to make a response
Answering technical questions from prospects and customers
Making general recommendations on Splunk solutions architecture
Identifying and managing technical issues arising throughout the sales lifecycle
Requirements
You will bring strong communication skills, both verbal and written
You will be interested in technology and how it can be used to solve business problems
You will bring Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems to the team
Additional languages are desirable (French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Italian)
Education
You are currently in university and ideally about to start your final year following completion of the internship
