The Role
We're hiring a Paid Acquisition Specialist to own paid growth for the supply side of the business at Athena. This is a hands-on role for a deep specialist—someone who lives in the platforms, knows what great execution looks like, and personally owns every paid channel end to end. You'll run our full paid acquisition mix (Google, LinkedIn, Meta, emerging channels, etc.) with support from the broader growth team.
You'll execute everything from channel mix and creative testing to performance tracking and budget allocation, with a sharp focus on driving volume and improving cost per qualified applicant. You'll partner closely with CRO, Marketing, and recruitment to ensure paid traffic converts. You'll be the expert who not only executes the current strategy at a high level, but also spots and tests the next set of opportunities to grow it.
Channel Execution: Own and operate all paid acquisition channels on the supply side (Google, LinkedIn, Meta, emerging channels, etc.) with accountability for performance.
Strategy & Planning: Help determine the roadmap for channel mix, creative strategy, and spend allocation based on performance goals and business priorities.
Creative Collaboration: Partner with in-house designers and recruitment team to develop high-performing ad creative tailored to channel and audience.
Data & Insights: Monitor channel performance, cohort quality, and funnel metrics using our data tools. Work with the internal stakeholders to close the loop from spend to applicant to hire.
Testing & Iteration: Run structured, ongoing experiments across platforms, audiences, copy, and landing pages to increase quality applicant quality and cost per hire.
Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends, new technologies, and channel innovations within paid media to identify opportunities and drive growth.
Paid Media Expertise: Knowledge of performance marketing across major B2B and B2C channels, with a track record of optimizing for both scale and efficiency.
Creative Performance Instincts: Skilled at developing hypotheses and briefs that lead to effective creative across formats and placements.
Data Fluency: Comfortable interpreting cohort analysis, funnel reporting, and attribution tools to make decisions.
Growth Mindset: You test fast, learn quickly, and build systems to scale what works.
Technical Marketing Infrastructure: Understanding of tracking, pixels, UTM structures, and attribution logic.
AI Native: Experience using AI to accelerate creative production and analyze campaign data, surfacing optimization opportunities faster.
3+ years in performance marketing, ideally in a recruitment environment.
Proven track record managing large ad budgets (+$100K USD/mo) across multiple channels.
Familiarity with working cross-functionally across Growth, Marketing, Recruitment, Data teams.
