About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to design, build, and scale modern backend platforms, APIs, and microservices. In this role, you will develop Java‑based APIs and Vaadin Apps and contribute to the development of AI agents and orchestration workflows using modern LLM tooling. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑quality solutions that support enterprise platforms and business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services using Java (Spring, Vaadin), following the best practices.
Build and manage RESTful APIs and frontend and backend components with strong focus on performance, security, and reliability.
Develop system integrations and workflows across enterprise platforms using APIs and events.
Contribute to CI/CD, Containerization, and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and operational stability.
Ensure code quality and production readiness through testing, reviews, documentation, and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver secure, high‑quality solutions and mentor team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong backend development focus.
Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, building production‑grade backend services and APIs.
Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java.
Solid understanding of backend architecture patterns, including Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF), microservices and service‑oriented design.
Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and SSO.
Strong knowledge of relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
Experience building and deploying applications in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD practices (Docker, pipelines, automated deployments).
Proficiency with Git‑based workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development.
Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with an ownership mindset.
Test-Driven Development and Unit Testing experience
Experience working in distributed team environments using version control, code reviews, and standard DevOps practices
Preferred Skills
Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, and Cloud SQL, BigQuery
Familiarity with event‑driven and asynchronous systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or Service Bus).
Experience with cloud‑native patterns and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform or equivalent).
