About this opportunity:
We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our Ericsson team as a Senior Engineer - Ericsson HLR/HSS. This critical role belongs to our Managed Services department, directly contributing to our ongoing Ericsson Operations Engine projects. You will be at the forefront of tech-driven change, offering your specialist knowledge to guide the entire lifecycle of our projects. Whether we are in the Create, Sustain, or Evolve stages, your expertise will pave the way forward in your domain.
What you will do:
- Identify, analyze, and resolve network and service faults in HLR, HSS, CUDB, CCDU and connected nodes.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for service failures such as registration issues, location update failures, authentication rejections, and roaming faults.
- Analyze signalling traces (MAP, CAP, Diameter, HTTP, SS7, SIGTRAN) using tools like Wireshark, Message Analyzer, or Ericsson's internal trace tools.
- Handle customer trouble tickets (TTs), ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
- Continuously monitor node KPIs, alarms, and logs to detect performance degradation or anomalies.
- Proactively identify trends, repeating faults, and configuration issues affecting subscriber database health.
- Lead high-severity incident analysis (P1/P2) ensuring minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with vendor TAC, design teams, and cross-domain experts (EPC, IMS, OSS) for complex fault resolution.
- Document findings, RCA reports, and preventive recommendations.
- Support software upgrades, patches, and corrective maintenance for HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU nodes.
- Validate service functionality post-upgrade or re-homing through end-to-end testing and KPI checks.
The skills you bring:
- Administrating Ericsson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU Network and Support Systems
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Planned Maintenance (Health Checks, Backups etc...)
- Problem Escalations and Follow-ups (TT/CSR/TR/SR)
- Interface with Customer, 3PP and Ericsson Departments
- The following work position / area/ specific functional skills are typically applicable to the Domain Support Specialist- Ericsson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU functional role.
- Good Technical Knowledge of the specific Ericsson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU nodes viz. for NTHLR/SDM Network.
- Understanding of all Processes, routines activities and stakeholder management.
- Expertise on Protocols (i.e. SS7, INAP, TCAP, MAP, SCCP, http, Diameter signaling)
- Call flows and Call scenarios, Multiple Test Cases, AT and clear understanding.
- Expertise on Ercisson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU and basic knowledge of IMS/PACO/MSS/MGW
- Hands on experience on Ercisson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU
- 2G/3G/LTE/4G, VoLTE/IMS, call flows.
- Knowledge of hardware and software alarm & Trouble shooting.
- H/W functionality of units in Ericsson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU Nodes.
- Performance & Characteristics of Ericsson HLR/HSS/CUDB/CCDU Network Nodes.
Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech. in Electronics & Communications with at least 6-8 years of Experience in NTHLR/SDM Domain.
