Special Capabilities Analyst

• The Special Capabilities Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and applying advanced research capabilities for the Nebius Global Intelligence team, with the aim of strengthening the company’s understanding of complex business, digital, and international environments. 

• The role combines the management of specialized research assignments, collaboration with professional partners and vendors, and the use of diverse research tools, sources, and methodologies. Responsibilities include understanding the business need, developing an appropriate research approach, coordinating execution, and assessing the quality, reliability, and relevance of the resulting deliverables. 

• The Analyst will integrate information and findings from different sources and areas of expertise, identify relationships, patterns, and trends, and transform them into a clear picture that supports assessments and decision-making. The role requires research and operational experience, technological understanding, the ability to manage external interfaces, sound judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive information. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Manage and coordinate complex research assignments, from receiving the initial requirement through delivery of the final product to the internal stakeholder. 
• Translate the department’s information needs into clear work plans and assignments for external providers and professional specialists. 
• Work closely with research firms, information providers, and professional partners across a range of specialized fields. 
• Conduct research across diverse digital environments, including social media, online communities, foreign-language sources, and specialized information sources. 
• Use advanced research tools and technological capabilities to expand coverage and identify information not captured through standard monitoring tools. 
• Identify and analyze relevant individuals and entities, relationships, trends, activity patterns, and online developments of potential significance to the company. 
• Plan and coordinate tailored research approaches using providers, sources, and professional capabilities suited to the requirements of each assignment. 
• Verify and cross-reference findings obtained from different sources and information channels and assess their reliability and significance. 
• Integrate findings into a clear research picture and prepare assessments, profiles, and briefings for the intelligence team and internal stakeholders. 
• Manage the quality of work performed by providers and professional partners, including monitoring compliance with requirements, timelines, and expected deliverable standards. 
• Maintain structured documentation and ensure discretion and responsible handling of sensitive information throughout the research process. 

We expect you to have: 

• 5+ years of experience in commercial intelligence or specialized research firms, including hands-on responsibility for managing integrated research and collection activities. 
• Previous experience in an intelligence role within a relevant state, government, or public-sector environment. 
• Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and managing complex research assignments involving multiple methods, sources, and providers. 
• In-depth understanding and practical research experience across the Dark Web, closed digital communities, social media, and online communication platforms. 
• Experience conducting human-source research (HUMINT), interviews, or structured professional engagement with relevant sources. 
• Experience managing research firms, information providers, and external professional capabilities, including tasking, professional oversight, and deliverable assessment. 
• Demonstrated ability to verify and cross-reference information, integrate findings from different sources, and develop a clear research picture. 
• Full professional proficiency in Russian, including the ability to read, understand, and analyze complex content. 
• Excellent command of English, including the ability to write, brief, and present findings to a high professional standard. 
• Strong familiarity with cyber intelligence sources, digital environments, and technological tools used for research and information collection. 
• Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information and complex assignments responsibly. 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities. 

It will be an added bonus if you have: 

• Experience in a managerial role or leading teams, providers, or multidisciplinary research activities. 
• Experience working in a global business environment, technology company, or with corporate clients. 
• Familiarity with cyber intelligence as a research source only, digital threats, coordinated campaigns, and foreign influence. 
• Experience using artificial intelligence tools, advanced research platforms, and professional databases. 
• Proficiency in Chinese or another foreign language.
