We are looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead global sourcing initiatives for our Horizontal Mills product portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to influence sourcing strategy, build world-class supplier partnerships, and deliver cost, quality, and supply chain improvements across a global business.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Global Supply Chain team, you will:

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies across key commodity categories including castings, forgings, fabricated components, hydraulics, gearboxes, and motors.

  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives through spend analysis, supplier consolidation, benchmarking, should-cost modelling, and strategic negotiations.

  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers to ensure best-in-class quality, delivery, cost, and risk management.

  • Lead commercial negotiations, including long-term agreements, pricing models, and supplier performance improvements.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product Line Management, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

  • Lead value engineering initiatives with suppliers to improve manufacturability, product performance, and overall lifecycle cost.

  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs while developing strong, collaborative supplier relationships.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by ensuring sourcing readiness and supplier capability.

  • Proactively manage supply chain risks related to commodity markets, logistics, geopolitical events, and supplier capacity.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve supply chain resilience, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

What You Bring

You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys solving complex supply chain challenges and influencing business outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within heavy industry, mining equipment, manufacturing, or industrial technology.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in supplier negotiations, cost modelling, spend analysis, and strategic sourcing.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working within a global, cross-functional organisation.

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across internal teams and supplier networks.

Preferred Experience

Experience with horizontal mill components or similar heavy industrial equipment will be highly regarded, along with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, fabrication, and assembly. Professional procurement certifications (CPSM, CSCP or equivalent) and experience with supplier ESG and responsible sourcing practices are advantageous.
