Thales Portugal is looking for an experienced professional to take on the role of Solution Design Authority within our growing Air Traffic Control business area. In this role, you will act as the Technical Authority on complex projects, ensuring that solutions meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and Thales product strategy.
You will work across the full life cycle of advanced Air Traffic Control solutions, from bid phase and solution definition to delivery, integration and validation, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and acting as the key technical interface with customers.
Key Responsibilities:Act as the technical authority for the solution across bids and project delivery;
Analyse customer requirements and define the system architecture and technical approach;
Ensure solution compliance with customer needs, product strategy, safety and regulatory requirements;
Lead systems engineering activities, including requirements definition, system architecture and design reviews;
Oversee design work across multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, hardware, mechanical and acoustic);
Coordinate integration, verification, validation and qualification activities (IVVQ) throughout the project lifecycle;
Act as the main technical interface with the customer and support product development and capability evolution for ATC systems.
Degree in Engineering or a related technical field;
Proven Project Design Authority with technical/project experience in both development and support fields;
Experience in requirements engineering, system design and system life cycle management;
Ability to act as a technical leader within multidisciplinary teams;
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
Experience in Air Traffic Control systems or critical control systems is highly valued;
Very good written and oral proficiency in English.
