Solution Architect

Job Objective: 

Chubb is looking for an IT Leader with Solution Architecture experience to join our regional IT Architecture team as the lead architect for our modern Consumer Portfolio, leading the design activities within conceptualization and initialization phases and supporting project execution. The individual will be accountable for the solution architecture design, application roadmap and cloud migration / modernization for the designated portfolio and will act as a single point of contact between the local leadership and regional / global architecture as required. This person will be accountable for e2e solution design, managing demand / priorities of the architecture function locally, representing the country in regional / global forums. The individual will report to the Regional AVP in charge of Regional Applications and will be embedded within the regional delivery team.

This person should have a passion to understand and apply architectural design patterns for modern environments, while learning how to manage and prioritize technology decisions over a portfolio of applications and drive modernization initiatives. The candidate will also support improve adoption of standard EA Frameworks and best practices such as Domain Driven Design and define KPIs for the programs under his / her responsibility. The individual will be accountable for the completion and validation of solution design artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define architecture frameworks, reference architectures and specific solution architectures
• Research on alternatives scenarios to design high level architecture solutions
• Solution design and documentation within Chubb standards, including Archimate
• Support detailed analysis activities on systems of records, digital technologies, cloud adoption and DevSecOps implementation.
• Enhance Chubb’s KPIs and reporting methods for Enterprise Architecture

• Work closely with operation and business teams to help understand business needs, prioritize and transforming them into IT deliverables

• Lead design, execution, and documentation of Proof of Concepts for new technologies

• Support identification and development of best practices / guidelines for IT architecture in LatAm,

Technical knowledge

• Education:  Bachelor’s / Engineering IT Degree

• Field of Study: IT

• Language: Spanish, English

• Level:  High level on English, ability to interact in video conferences and produce written material

• General experience: Previous experience developing applications 

• Working experience within insurance ( claims), retail or financial services industries.

• Experience in role: +3y

   

Technology tools/ skills apps

• Proficiency with modern tech stack Java Spring Boot / Quarkus

• Solid understanding of Software Engineering patterns and application in refactoring scenarios

• Experience in enterprise / legacy middleware and B2B integration patterns (batch and online)

• Experience in cloud environments with PaaS solutions (Azure preferred)

• High level understanding of architecture modeling / concepts

• Experience evaluating / comparing technologies / products using both functional and non-functional requirements

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and other containerization solutions 

• Highly organized, possessing strong analytical abilities

• Excellent written/verbal skills

• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.

• Ability to interact well with various levels of the organization

• Ability to quickly learn project processes and their incorporation into the tools utilized.
