Position Summary
The role Solution Architect will focus on Infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps to lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of scalable infrastructure solutions that align with the company’s long-term software architecture strategy. This role ensures robust, efficient, and future-ready platforms that enable innovation and operational excellence across the enterprise. In this role, you will collaborate with the IT Operations team, Software Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and the other developers to influence and approve software design decisions for client-side software for both Cloud and on-prem solutions. The successful candidate will focus on architecting and delivering solutions using modern cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, while also supporting and integrating with existing on-premises infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Act as a hands-on development Architect and Lead with an active role in mentoring, training, and cross-training other developers, both Junior and Senior.
- Design and prototype client systems and applications that support the ALLDATA products.
- Document and communicate the architecture to the development team, third party vendors (as required), and all stakeholders.
- Directly design, implement, and manage Akamai solutions for WAF, CDN’s policy management, DNS, GSLB & Application Load Balancers.
- Collaborate closely with API Architects to design services that optimally support ALLDATA’s products and applications.
- Work with Engineering and QA teams to provide technical guidance and drive prototypes to finished products.
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX team to design consistent, Best in Class software solutions.
- Interface with stakeholders to carry out long term technology direction, especially acting as a translator between software designs and cloud infrastructure solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (Master’s Degree considered an asset)
- 7-10 years of full-time Senior or Lead role supporting a large environment preferably for a SaaS organization
- 3-5 years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager or Architect
- Full stack architecture experience with multi-tiered systems including knowledge of databases, networks, middleware, and a variety of front-end architectures.
- Experience with complete lifecycle of software applications (inception through sunset)
- Experience supporting Akamai solutions for CDN’s, WAF, Policy Management, DNS, and SSL.
- Experience managing and designing and implementing GSLB and application load balancers.
- Experience deploying and supporting DevOps processes for a large GCP environment and supporting Compute Engine, Networking, Cloud Storage and Backups
- Cloud Knowledge in Monitoring, Alerting, IAM and Access Management
- Strong knowledge of working with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Jenkins to support DevOps operations.
- Experience supporting load balancers such as Citrix NetScaler or F5.
- Google Cloud Engineer certification or AWS/Azure.
