Software Engr II

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle SQL Database Developer / PL/SQL Expert to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining backend database solutions that support mission-critical business applications. This role requires strong expertise in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL programming, along with experience integrating enterprise systems through Web Services and APIs using C#/.NET technologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with application developers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions while adhering to engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle database objects including: 
  • Stored Procedures
  • Packages
  • Functions
  • Triggers
  • Views
  • Materialized Views
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
• Develop and troubleshoot complex SQL and PL/SQL code for enterprise applications.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Support data migration, data integration, and ETL-related activities.
• Develop and maintain interfaces between backend systems using REST/SOAP web services and APIs.
• Collaborate with .NET developers to integrate database components with enterprise applications.
• Participate in system design reviews and provide recommendations for database architecture improvements.
• Develop unit tests and support integration testing activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD initiatives and deployment automation processes.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of issues.
• Create technical documentation and maintain coding standards and best practices.
• Work effectively within Agile/Scrum development teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MCA, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Oracle databases.
• Expert-level knowledge of:

• Hands-on experience in developing:

  • Complex SQL Queries
• Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and data modelling concepts.
• Experience in SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting database-related issues in production environments.
• Working knowledge of Web Services, REST APIs, SOAP services, and system-to-system integrations.
• Experience with C# and .NET technologies for backend integration.
• Understanding of software engineering principles, coding standards, and version control systems.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
• Experience with Oracle performance monitoring and database administration concepts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native concepts.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, SVN, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of message-based integrations and enterprise application architecture.
• Exposure to Angular, JavaScript, or other front-end technologies is a plus.
