You will partner with global engineering leaders to maintain our high standards for security and reliability, ensuring that every release meets the rigorous quality bar our customers expect. While your primary focus is on people leadership and strategic team building, we are looking for a leader who stays close to the craft. You will have the opportunity to remain hands-on, contributing to the codebase and architectural decisions as your management priorities allow.

If you are a builder who thrives on creating high-performing teams and cares deeply about the final "feel" of a product, we want to talk to you.

What you will do:

  • Hire and bootstrap the Core Frontier team in Bengaluru, setting the technical bar and engineering culture for our growing presence in the region while fostering deep collaboration with our global teams in Europe and North America.
  • Work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, working with talented engineers, managers and partners across Product, Security, Design, Architecture and QA to deliver features that delight our customers.
  • Adapt and evolve engineering processes and best practices to ensure the team remains agile, healthy, and high-performing.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap, providing the necessary context and technical clarity to unblock your team.
  • Run people and team management activities such as coaching, 1:1s, performance reviews, ceremonies, etc.
  • Be responsible for your team’s health and delivery, and your reports growth and performance.
  • Maintain a "hands-on" approach by participating in code reviews, architectural discussions, and contributing to the codebase outside of the critical path.

What you will bring:

  • Total - 10+ years experience out of which 3+ years of engineering management experience, preceded by a strong foundation as an individual contributor (typically 5+ years).
  • Experience leading teams that build highly reliable, secure, and scalable distributed systems.
  • A passion for coaching engineers at various career stages and a track record of fostering technical growth.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and build trust across different time zones and functions (both technical and non-technical).
  • A systematic approach to tackling technical and organizational challenges with a strong sense of ownership.
  • The ability and desire to remain technically capable, directly contributing to the development process and architectural strategy outside of the critical path.

Nice to have:
