We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join Procore’s Runtime Platform Services engineering department. In this role, you’ll lead a newly formed engineering pod of engineers based in Cairo focused on Observability Enablement. Your mission is to act as the bridge between our platform and our people. You will lead a team that functions like Forward Engineers and Developer Relations (DevRel) specialists, embedding directly with Procore’s product engineering teams to overhaul their observability experience and drive the adoption of OpenTelemetry.
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll partner with Product Managers, Platform Architects, and Product Engineering leads to ensure our observability platform matures into a product that our internal customers love using. You will be responsible for creating a feedback loop where your team identifies friction points in the field and works with the Observability Platform team to solve them at the root.
Use your leadership, strategic influence, and passion for developer experience to standardize how product code is monitored across Honeycomb, Datadog, BugSnag, Prometheus, and Grafana, ensuring every team has a clear, actionable view of their services.
Join our mission to build a resilient, world-class engineering culture — Apply today!
This position reports into a physiotherapy Engineering Manager, Platform Services and will be based in our Cairo office.
What you’ll do:
AI is central to how we work. You’ll be expected to master generative tools and agentic workflows, moving beyond just using AI to actively building the agentic future of construction.

Drive the "Golden Path" for observability by helping teams adopt OpenTelemetry libraries and ensuring they have high-quality visibility in Honeycomb, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Function as a DevRel leader for the platform, gathering deep insights into the developer experience and translating those needs into the Observability Platform roadmap.
Partner with Product Management to shape the team backlog, balancing active "embeds" with long-term platform improvements that reduce friction for all of Procore engineering.
Collaborate across the aisle with Incident Management and Traffic teams to improve "First to Know" and "Quick to Fix" metrics through better data and standardized tooling.
Establish engineering best practices within your pod, ensuring that the team’s embedded work results in sustainable, high-quality codebases for the teams they support.
Manage team growth and culture by identifying hiring needs, conducting interviews, and fostering an environment of Ownership, Openness, and Optimism.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager focused on leading high-performing teams and improving overall engineering excellence
