Position Overview
This position’s primary responsibility will be to translate software requirements into microservices using Java and Springboot to be deployed on OpenShift / AWS. The chosen candidate will apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, gather accurate requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize his tasks. The role will require strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment while contributing towards developing and adhering to best practices for developing applications that are scalable, relevant, and critical to the project.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot to support critical interoperability use cases
• Build scalable microservices and deploy them on OpenShift / cloud platforms (AWS)
• Translate business requirements and regulatory use cases into high-quality API solutions
• Integrate with external systems using API gateways, authentication (OAuth/JWT/Okta), and event-driven architecture (Kafka where applicable)
• Collaborate with frontend teams, onsite stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Ensure API performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Support production and pre-production environments, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution
• Identify system bottlenecks and drive performance optimization
• Implement unit testing, integration testing, and automation frameworks
• Follow best practices for code quality, CI/CD, and DevOps processes
• Contribute to architecture discussions and guide junior developers
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Experience working with AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS, or similar)
• Strong understanding of API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect) and Event-driven architecture and integrations
• Experience with OpenShift / containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Strong database knowledge (Oracle or similar relational databases)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, and infrastructure fundamentals
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Required Experience & Education:
7–9 years with strong hands-on API/microservices experience
College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
Desired Experience:
Exposure to AWS
Healthcare experience
Experience integrating with API Gateways, Kafka, and distributed systems
Familiarity with React / Node.js is a plus
