WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Software Engineer in the Digital Transactions area, you will work on one of H&M's key e-commerce platforms, built on SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris. You will be part of a product team responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining core customer-facing commerce capabilities such as cart, checkout, wishlist, order confirmation, customer journeys, and order-related integrations.
This role is not limited to project delivery only. You will be part of the product engineering team that owns the application end to end, meaning you will contribute to new feature development, technical improvements, production stability, defect resolution, code quality, and continuous platform evolution.
In addition to the above, your role will involve:
- Developing and enhancing SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris features across cart, checkout, wishlist, order confirmation, customer, product, pricing, promotions, delivery, and order-related flows
- Building, extending, and maintaining OCC REST APIs used by frontend and composable storefront applications
- Working with SAP Commerce layers including controllers, facades, services, DAOs, converters, populators, interceptors, events, cronjobs, impex, back office, Flexible Search, Solr, and Cloud Hot folder
- Supporting checkout and transactional journeys involving cart calculation, delivery mode selection, payment flow, order placement, order confirmation, and downstream integrations
- Contributing to integrations with external systems such as payment providers, OMS, ERP/ECC, CPI, pricing/promotion services, delivery systems, and event-driven platforms
- Troubleshooting production and non-production issues by analyzing application logs, API payloads, database queries, Flexible Search results, stack traces, and monitoring dashboards
- Participating in technical design discussions, impact analysis, estimation, implementation planning, and code reviews
- Improving application performance, maintainability, scalability, and production readiness
- Writing clean, testable, maintainable code and supporting unit testing, integration testing, and defect fixing
- Collaborating in an agile product team and taking ownership of assigned features from development to release and post-release support
- Supporting continuous improvement of the SAP Commerce Cloud platform in CCV2 environments
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with strong hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris engineering experience who can contribute independently and collaborate effectively with a larger product team.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology (B.Tech/B.E/MS/MTech) or a related field
- 4-7 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong Java and Spring framework experience
- Hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris development experience
- Good understanding of SAP Commerce Cloud architecture, extension structure, build process, and CCV2 deployment model
- Experience with core SAP Commerce areas such as cart, checkout, pricing, promotions, orders, customers, products, catalogs, impex, cronjobs, interceptors, events, services, facades, converters, and populators
- Experience building and extending OCC REST APIs
- Good understanding of SAP Commerce backoffice, Flexible Search, Solr, and integration patterns
- Experience working with SAP Commerce Cloud in CCV2 environments
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, debug code, and work with monitoring tools
- Good understanding of e-commerce flows, especially cart, checkout, order placement, payment, delivery, and fulfilment-related integrations
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly
Preferred skills
- Experience with payment integrations, order integrations, OMS, ECC, CPI, or event-driven integrations
- Experience with composable storefront or headless commerce integrations
- Experience with SAP Commerce performance tuning, code quality improvements, and production-readiness topics
- Experience working with APIs, integration payloads, logs, monitoring tools, and issue investigation
- Experience with Solace, Kafka, or other event-driven messaging platforms is a plus
- Experience with cloud-native commerce operations, CI/CD, monitoring, and DevOps practices is a plus
- Ability to contribute to technical design, solution discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and complex troubleshooting

The team owns and maintains key transactional customer journeys across cart, checkout, wishlist, order confirmation, payment, delivery, and order-related flows. This is a product ownership environment, so the team is responsible not only for delivering new functionality but also for maintaining application stability, improving technical quality, resolving production issues, and continuously enhancing the platform.
You will collaborate closely with software engineers, engineering managers, solution architects, product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, frontend teams, integration teams, platform teams, and other engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and customer-centric commerce solutions. Together, you will build, enhance, and operate scalable commerce capabilities that support H&M's global digital business.
