You will
Be a founding member of the Infrastructure & Security team, responsible for the platform reliability, security posture, and compliance readiness that enables Basic Capital to scale with confidence
Own Basic Capital's ongoing SOC 2 Type II compliance, implementing security controls, documenting processes, and working with auditors to achieve and maintain certification
Design and implement comprehensive observability systems including logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing across our infrastructure
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code that enable fast, safe releases
Optimize system performance, latency, and cost efficiency as we scale to serve more customers and handle increasing transaction volumes
Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) including networking, security groups, IAM policies, and compliance-related configurations
Required Competencies
Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM)
Proven track record implementing security best practices and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar)
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and encryption
Experience with observability platforms and building monitoring/alerting systems (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch)
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go) for automation
Preferred Competencies
Experience with secrets management, key rotation, and encryption at rest/in transit
Familiarity with penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security incident response
Experience with disaster recovery planning and business continuity
Experience in fintech or early-stage technology companies
Experience working in Kotlin backends
Experience with Temporal for asynchronous workflow orchestration
