About SailPoint
SailPoint is defining the next era of identity security. Our unified, AI-powered platform seamlessly secures both the Human Fabric of your workforce and the Agentic Fabric of AI and non-human identities, completely eliminating organizational blind spots.
Built on core principles like zero-standing privilege and contextualized risk, our platform transforms identity from a vulnerability into a strategic business advantage. Today, we are trusted by some of the largest, most complex organizations in the world to deliver intelligent, autonomous identity security at scale.
About the Role
SailPoint is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to help build a new cloud-based SaaS identity analytics product. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, event-driven microservices hosted in AWS. You will have the unique opportunity to build new capabilities from the ground up while leveraging the resources, scale, and established customer base of an industry leader.
About the Team
Our Engineering team is full of results-driven individuals who are constantly seeking to innovate and make a measurable impact. At SailPoint, engineering is where high-quality technical craftsmanship meets individual ownership. The team collaborates closely in an agile environment, building high-throughput, cloud-native services that secure millions of identities worldwide.
Roadmap for Success
- 30 Days: Complete SailPoint onboarding, set up your local development environment, familiarize yourself with our cloud architecture and coding standards, and successfully deliver your first minor code change or bug fix to production.
- 60 Days: Gain a deeper understanding of the identity analytics product architecture, participate actively in design and architecture discussions, conduct peer code reviews, and deliver your first feature-level contribution.
- 90 Days: Independently design, implement, test, and deploy Java-based microservices, taking full ownership of feature deliverables from requirement analysis through production monitoring.
- 6 Months: Drive end-to-end technical initiatives, enhance system performance and reliability, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and mentor newer team members on best practices.
- 1 Year: Act as a subject matter expert for key components of the identity analytics SaaS platform, contribute to long-term architectural strategy, and partner with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact roadmap milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Go
- Proficient experience with object-oriented analysis, design principles, and design patterns
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices
- Demonstrated ability to produce unit and end-to-end tests to ensure high code quality and test coverage
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
AI-assisted engineering:
Our engineers are expected to use AI development tools as a core part of their daily workflow, not as a novelty. We expect you to use these tools to accelerate delivery, expand your scope, and raise the quality bar, while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and own everything that ships under your name. Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code is a baseline expectation for this role.
