Overview
The Fraud Insights team is looking for a Software developement engineer who can develop Enterprise applications using Java J2EE stack. Also, development of Portals which would be either used by customer care, end user, customer representatives etc. The ideal candidate is the one who is passionate about designing & developing high quality code which is highly scalable, operable & highly available
Role
Software developement Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence
of applications and infrastructure. SDE proactively improve system health through automation, monitoring, incident management,
capacity planning, and continuous operational improvements. Provide support of applications software through programming, analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions.
Research alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.
Major Accountabilities:• Participate in designing highly scalable, fault tolerant, and performant systems in cloud• Liaise with stakeholders to understand the needs of business • Build relationships, influence and work with cross functional teams • Ensure project implementation(s) and technical delivery are compliant with solution architectural design and best practices• Provide technical guidance to the project team(s) • Consult and support project team(s) regarding project implementation • Explain technical issues and solution strategies to stakeholders • Ensure that technical designs and deliveries milestones are accomplished on time • Ensure that technical designs and deliveries are aligned with business needs, infrastructure capabilities and security & compliance requirements • Evaluate current and emerging technologies via Proof of Concepts or similar • Assist with project scoping, sizing, prioritizing, planning, and estimation • Identify and mitigate existing business risk(s) associated with solution architecture and technical designs• Thrive in a highly collaborative company environment where agility is paramount • Stay up to date with new technologies on the front-end and server-side through self-study, blogs, meetups, conferences, etc. • Mentor development team on industry best practices
All About You
• Skills: Java 8, Spring Boot 3.X, REST APIs, Shared services onboarding, Open API Specs, Postgres, NoSql databases. • Good to have Azure/AWS and Snowflake experience. • Minimum bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or extensive work experience. • 3 Years of Hands-on Software development experience. 3+ years in Software development, Springboot, RESTful API sevelopement, microservices developement, work experience in NoSql databases, Hibernate, use of software development tools, AI pair programming. Familiar with DevOps and IT Operations best practices. • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required. • Need to work with global team and available in different time zones (US, Canada, Dublin, India). • Familiarity with performance tuning, designing for failure, and automation. • Participate in designing highly scalable, fault tolerant, and performant systems in cloud. • Ensure project implementation(s) and technical delivery are compliant with solution architectural design and best practices. • Assist with project scoping, sizing, prioritizing, planning, and estimation. • Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns. • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. • Finding resilient and reliable solutions to integration challenges with vendors and /or acquired entities, that meet Mastercard's high security and quality standards. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong collaboration skills across disparate technology vendors and business units. • Setting priorities, objectives, and driving deliverables within global technology domains and sub-domains

- 3+ years hands-on software development experience
- Proficiency with Java (Java 8) and Java J2EE stack
- Experience with Spring Boot (3.x) and building RESTful APIs
- Experience with microservices architecture and designing for scalability/failure
- Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with Hibernate
- Familiarity with DevOps and IT Operations best practices, monitoring, automation, incident management, and ITSM
- Ability to work across global time zones and collaborate with distributed teams
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Azure/AWS and Snowflake
