The Commerce Core Trust Platform team is hiring a Software Engineer II to help design, build, test, deploy, and operate secure, scalable, and intelligent platform services that support fraud and scam prevention across Microsoft commerce experiences.

Microsoft Email Orchestrator (MEO) is a mission-critical platform that powers billions of email transactions per month across Microsoft’s global ecosystem. It serves as the backbone for customer communications, transactional alerts, and service notifications across Azure, Microsoft 365, Commerce, and other enterprise services.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineer to lead technical efforts, drive architectural decisions, and build highly scalable and resilient cloud services.

- Translate customer and product requirements into well-defined engineering tasks and technical solutions.
- Contribute to software architecture, design discussions, technical documentation, and implementation planning.
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain secure, reliable, extensible, and accessible code.
- Participate in code reviews and use automated testing, telemetry, monitoring, and diagnostic tools to improve quality and service health.
- Support deployments and live-site operations, investigate issues, and implement lasting reliability improvements.
- Collaborate across disciplines while applying security, privacy, compliance, Responsible AI, and responsible engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in designing, developing, and operating mission-critical cloud services at scale.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C#, Java, or similar) and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills in high-scale environments.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, data modeling, and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to ship high quality, well tested code and to operate services in production.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness, coupled with a curiosity and commitment to continuous learning in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing cloud services, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, or modern web applications.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, telemetry, and live-site operations.
• Understanding of secure coding, privacy, accessibility, and compliance practices.
• Experience or interest in AI-assisted software development and engineering automation.
