About the Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to build and maintain backend services and APIs that power WATI’s SaaS platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, ensure system reliability, and continuously improve performance and deployment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs that power WATI’s SaaS platform and WhatsApp Business solutions.
- Work closely with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver new features and improvements efficiently.
- Write clean and maintainable code, and contribute to system design discussions and code reviews.
- Help troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across different components.
- Support continuous improvement in development workflow, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Keep up to date with new technologies and suggest ideas to enhance product performance and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Around 3–5 years of experience in backend development.
- Required: Experience with backend development using Golang or Python.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and RESTful APIs ; experience with MongoDB or PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Basic understanding of version control (Git) and cloud deployment (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Nice to have: Exposure to frontend development using JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus.
- (Optional) Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React, React Native, etc. would be an advantage.
- A proactive learner who enjoys solving problems collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
