What You'll Be Doing

As a Software Engineer, you'll work as part of a collaborative Agile team to:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy modern web applications and APIs.

• Build scalable software solutions that support investment management, portfolio operations, reporting, and business workflows.

• Develop high-quality backend services and data-driven applications using modern engineering practices.

• Create intuitive user experiences using contemporary frontend technologies.

• Design, write, and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions.

• Integrate applications across internal and external systems through APIs and data services.

• Contribute to cloud-based solutions and platform modernisation initiatives.

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.

• Collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver impactful outcomes.

• Continuously improve application performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.

• Explore and leverage modern automation and AI-assisted development practices where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills

• Strong software development experience in languages such as C#/.NET, Java, or similar enterprise technologies.

• Experience building modern web applications and APIs.

• Strong SQL skills are essential, including writing complex queries, database design concepts, performance tuning, and working with relational databases.

• Experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and clean code techniques.

• Experience working with source control systems such as Git.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to work effectively within an Agile delivery environment.

Highly Regarded

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience building data-intensive applications.

• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or container technologies.

• Experience in financial services, FinTech, wealth management, or investment management.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and automation technologies.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Alternatively, equivalent industry experience demonstrating strong software engineering capability.

• Minimum 3 years' professional software development experience.
