Have you recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar field, or do you have up to 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer? Are you interested in software development, autonomous technology and solving complex technical challenges? Our client is now looking for a Software Engineer to join their Control Tower team in Gothenburg.

Working as a Software Engineer at our client

Our client is a technology company working with digital, electric and autonomous solutions for the future of road freight. You will be joining the Control Tower team, which is responsible for the system used by operators to monitor and assist autonomous vehicles remotely.

As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Team Lead and Product Manager, as well as with other teams across the organization. The team works end-to-end, which means that you will be involved in several parts of the development process and have the opportunity to take ownership of what you build. Your work will include software development, testing, system design and data streaming, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

You will be part of a collaborative team where people are happy to help each other, share knowledge and solve problems together. The company also has a strong social culture, with different activities, happenings and employee-led clubs throughout the year.

The position is hybrid and based in Gothenburg.

Being a consultant at Nexer Tech Talent

Nexer Tech Talent specializes in giving tech talents the opportunity to build their careers at leading technology companies. For this role, you will be employed by Nexer Tech Talent and work as a consultant at our client in Gothenburg.

You will be part of the team from day one and work with real products and technical challenges alongside experienced colleagues. You will also have a consultant manager at Nexer Tech Talent who will support you throughout the assignment.

The intention is that, after the agreed consulting period, you will be offered direct employment with our client, provided that the collaboration works well for both parties.

Desired qualifications:

  • Newly graduated or up to 3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar field

  • Good foundation in software design, version control, automated software testing, data structures and algorithms

  • Experience working with Linux-based operating systems

  • Understanding of network protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, UDP, TCP, TLS and HTTP

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written

We are looking for someone who is curious, driven and enjoys working with others. You take responsibility for your work and like getting involved in different parts of a solution. Since the team works end-to-end, it is important that you enjoy working broadly and contributing where needed. For a newly graduated candidate, personality and drive are particularly important. You take initiative, want to develop and are comfortable becoming an active part of the team from the start.

It is a plus if you have experience with:

  • Rust and/or Golang

  • Cloud infrastructure, such as Google Cloud Platform or another cloud provider

  • gRPC or similar RPC frameworks

  • Safety-critical and/or real-time systems
