Introduction to the Team
In B2B division, we bring Expedia Group's innovative technology and distribution solutions to partners across the world. These businesses include global financial institutions, corporate managed travel, offline travel agents, global travel suppliers (like major airlines) and many more.
Our engineering team is at the heart of building and scaling the platforms and APIs that power our global B2B ecosystem. We are passionate about delivering robust, scalable software solutions that enable our partners to create exceptional travel experiences for their customers.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services and APIs that support Expedia Group's B2B partner ecosystem
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring
Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence
Participate in on-call (Tier 1) rotation, responding to incidents, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing long-term fixes
Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews, helping to raise the quality bar across the team
Work within an agile team environment, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous delivery practices
Support the adoption of best practices around security, reliability, and observability across the systems you own
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
3+ years of professional software development experience
Proficiency in Java (or JVM languages) and solid understanding of the JVM ecosystem
Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and distributed, microservices-based systems
Hands-on experience with both relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident response in a production environment
Proficient communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
