Introduction to the team:
The EGA(EG Advertising) owns the end-to-end platform behind Expedia Group’s Accelerator product, a partner-facing visibility booster in Expedia Partner Central that helps hotel partners improve search placement and drive demand on EG Traveler platform. We build and operate the experiences and services that power accelerator creation, updates, validation, orchestration, reporting, notifications, and downstream integrations across the broader advertising and marketplace ecosystem. Engineers on this team work on high-scale, business-critical systems that require strong data integrity, resilient service design, and thoughtful evolution of both legacy and modern stacks. The team partners closely with Product, Analytics, data-engineering and cross-domain engineering teams to launch new accelerator capabilities, simplify partner workflows, and ensure every configuration, event, and downstream signal is accurate, reliable, and production ready.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure software services and components that support Expedia Group products and platforms.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to translate business and customer requirements into robust system designs, including low-level design, API design, and data models.
Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code, automated tests, and tooling that improve reliability, observability, and operational excellence for your services.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions, identifying opportunities to simplify systems, reduce technical debt, and improve performance and quality across multiple services or domains.
Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of features and services, including deployment, monitoring, incident response, and incremental improvement, while safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes.
Work across different parts of the stack or adjacent domains as needed, building familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Hands‑on proficiency in at least one modern programming language and related ecosystem, with experience in system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling for service‑oriented or microservices architectures.
Experience owning features or services through development, testing, deployment, and operational support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
Solid understanding of core computer science and engineering fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems concepts, and secure coding practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing and implementing scalable, fault‑tolerant, and high‑throughput services, including well‑structured APIs and data models that serve multiple teams or domains.
Demonstrated track record of improving service availability, performance, or reliability through metrics, observability, automation, and strong operational practices.
Background integrating or leveraging AI/ML‑enabled components or platforms within production systems, and safely operating AI‑driven features to enhance customer and business outcomes.
Experience working across multiple technical domains or layers of the stack (e.g., front‑end, back‑end, data, or platform services), adapting quickly to new technologies, patterns, and AI‑driven tooling.
Ability to contribute to and influence technical designs within a team or product area, making data‑driven decisions and helping to evolve engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
