Job Title: Software Developer, Product Engineering
Location: Makati City
Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Software Developer to join our global DevOps team within Apex Group. This role will operate in a EU-Overlap and provide hands-on support, monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and development of bespoke in-house developed applications, integrations, automation platforms, reporting solutions, and data feeds.
This role sits at the intersection of application support, software development, troubleshooting, database engineering, automation, and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, stability, performance, and continual improvement of business-critical systems and services that support operational, reporting, compliance, and client delivery functions across the organization.
You will report to the Head of DevOps based in Spain and be responsible for ensuring high availability, responsiveness, and ongoing improvement of key systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of bespoke in-house developed applications, reporting solutions, automation platforms, integrations and associated services.
Investigate and resolve integration failures, or automation breakdowns in coordination with DevOps, Networking, infrastructure (Azure/AWS) and development teams.
Support software deployments, upgrades, infrastructure migrations and platform modernization initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.
Monitor and support data feed executions and application flow primarily in Airflow and .NET during business hours in the US.
Maintain and enhance existing Python DAGs, C# modules, .Net Applications and SQL stored procedures.
React – FrontEnd development
Participate in design, development, testing, and release cycles of features and enhancements.
Help automate validation and error reporting pipelines to reduce manual intervention.
Own the troubleshooting documentation, support playbooks, and escalation criteria.
Collaborate daily with the EU team and with the global squad.
Contribute to code reviews, quality control, and backlog grooming
Core Skills & Qualifications:
English communication (verbal and written).
3+ years’ experience in software development, preferably with exposure to support environments or production pipelines.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, exception handling, and multi-layered architecture.
Ability to analyze and reconcile data between application front ends, reporting outputs, integrations, and backend databases.
Experience with C#/.NET (APIs, backend)., Python (Airflow DAGs, APIs) and
DDD, SDD, AI Spec Driven Dev.
SQL knowledge and ability to debug stored procedures.
Familiarity with ETL concepts, job orchestration, and error handling in data workflows.
Hands-on knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD principles, and issue tracking.
Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools and error logs analysis.
Nice to Have (Valued Skills):
Familiarity with Airflow admin tasks (log management, retries, schedule tuning).
Experience with Docker, Terraform, or any infrastructure-as-code tool.
Exposure to cloud environments (Azure).
Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, NUnit).
Understanding of Agile principles and working in squads.
Shift & Collaboration Expectations:
Working hours aligned with US EST support hours.
Daily collaboration with the DevOps Lead and cross-functional teams across South Africa, Spain and other global locations.
