GAINSCO is seeking a Software Developer I to support the development, testing, and maintenance of high-quality software solutions that align with business goals and user needs. In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design and deliver applications that enhance our insurance services.

What does a Software Developer do at GAINSCO?

  • Design, code, test, and debug applications using modern software development practices.
  • Review existing software and identify opportunities to improve system effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver business-focused solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues, evaluate solution options, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Work in a high-accountability, team-oriented environment that values transparency, learning, and operational excellence.

What is required?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced technical certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 or more years of software development experience designing, coding, testing, and debugging software is required.
  • 1 or more years of experience with a managed object-oriented programming language, such as C#, Kotlin, Java, or similar is required.
  • 1 or more years of database development experience, such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar is required.
  • 1 or more years of experience with unit testing frameworks, such as NUnit, xUnit, JUnit, or similar is required.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines is required.
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is preferred.
