Role Description and Mission:
The Software Architect is a key member of a team that functions as the vanguard of innovation for the business. Responsible for defining, designing, developing, validating, and delivering the first instances of new technology-enabled capabilities. Support new capabilities through early adopter customer use. Accomplish effective transition to other technical and operational groups as capabilities and markets mature. Both qualify and utilize emerging technologies, yet overcome their limitations. Work on software technologies and solutions which are the fundamental blocks on which computer applications and telecommunications networks are built. Develop coherent, concise, accurate and clear to the customer, marketing, and other development models.
Key Outcomes:
- Provide solutions, architecture and technical guidance to distributed and complex software and hardware problems.
- Conduct research, analyze, determine the structure, design, build, test, implement or maintain such software.
- Provide a comprehensive architecture design to a problem that meets current needs and adapts to future needs.
- Ask questions and dig into assumptions to clarify requirements, avoid ambiguities, and target the underlying problems to be solved.
- Produce detailed functional and technical documentation to effectively communicate intent to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Design software systems to be extensible and maintainable.
- Design and test prototypes, proofs-of-technology and proofs-of-concept.
- Adapt to fill Subject Matter Expert roles within the technical organization based on organizational needs.
- Strive to remove and prevent silos of information within the organization.
- Mentor junior engineers cross-functionally.
Skills, Education, & Experience:
- 8+ years of related experience preferred. 3+ years of technical lead experience.
- Hands-on Software Development, Software & Systems Architecture, Systems Programming background.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Systems Architecture, Specification, Design and Large scale transactional integrated systems.
- Prior working experience in Agile, XP, or fast solutions delivery team.
- Experience with Cloud-Native Architecture and Support (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on "serverless" technologies.
- Evangelist for Test-First or Test-Driven development practices.
- Experience with event driven technologies (EventBridge, Kinesis, SQS).
- Proven highly available system design and implementation experience (99.99 SLA).
- Expert with Git and various Gitflows.
- Comfortable with moving between various parts of the technology stack (frontend, backend, database, SDLC tooling).
- Proven ability to walk the fine line between being a technology evangelist and creating unnecessary technical debt.
- Experience with creation of Generative AI-Powered applications while minimizing impacts of hallucinations and other issues (SE4AI)
- Experience with pragmatic application of Generative AI tooling that enhances developer productivity while still allowing developers to maintain necessary skills and system understanding (AI4SE).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with developing frontend (SPA) and backend (API) applications.
- Experience with P/IAAS on cloud like AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate.
- Experience with logging frameworks and aggregators (Datadog, Splunk).
- Experience with ORM/ODM tools like SQLAlchemy and PynamoDB.
- Experience with creation of CI/CD Automation pipelines to avoid any manual deployment processes.
- Experience with Machine Learning Model training, workflows, and exposing for real-time prediction.

The base salary range presented represents the anticipated low and high end salary range for new hires in this position. Your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as work location, experience, job related skills, and relevant training and education.
