Summary
The successful candidate will oversee stakeholder engagement, community
relations, social investment initiatives, and ESG compliance across operational
areas. This role requires managing social risks, community development
programs, grievance resolution, and strategic reporting while supporting
operational continuity and social performance objectives.
Duties
& Responsibilities
1. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead stakeholder engagement and community
relations activities across operational areas/business locations
- Manage GMoU/community development frameworks
and social investment programmes.
- Identify and mitigate social performance and
reputational risks
- Oversee grievance management and conflict
resolution processes
- Coordinate NGO partners, community contractors,
and development initiatives towards achieving social investment goals in line
with company’s SI pillars.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ESG, and
corporate social responsibility requirements
- Support crisis response and operational
continuity through proactive stakeholder management
- Monitor social performance metrics and prepare
executive-level reports for management decisions
- Review periodically the Social Investment
Strategy and management of Social Impact as outlined in the Social Performance
Plan
- Build the competence and talent pipeline in the
business for technical authorities in Social Performance to enable succession
planning and in role development that ensure the right competence and
effectiveness of workforce is always maintained.
Requirements
Education
A university degree
preferably in social science or comparable discipline
Experience/Certifications
· Minimum of 10 years post-graduation work
experience, out of which a minimum of 5 years should be spent in a social
performance or social investment function in a reputable organization
preferably in the Oil & Gas industry or in a Consulting firm (KPMG, PwC,
Accenture, etc.)
2 CERTIFICATIONS
Relevant
Professional certifications are an added advantage: Certification/Membership of relevant
Communications/Public Relations professional bodies such as - International
Association of Business Communicators (IABC); Nigeria Institute of Public
Relations (NIPR); Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR);
International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
Skills Required
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduation work experience

- University degree in social science or comparable discipline
- Relevant Professional certifications
