We are currently working on Project ETHOS, a new free-to-play, 3rd person rogue-like hero shooter and an exciting evolution on the genre!

What We Need:

We are looking for a passionate Community & Social Media Manager who will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional partners across publishing and the 31st Union development team to build and foster long-term relationships with our fans. This person will also build out our studio identity across all 31U-owned social accounts, highlighting our people and our unique culture in order to attract new talent.

Must Haves:

  • Prior experience working in community management, player listening, and/or communications.
  • Proficiency in managing and growing online communities across platforms such as Reddit and Discord, including direct-to-player communications and engagement strategies.
  • Ability to monitor, analyze, and synthesize community feedback, and then provide actionable insights that will guide marketing and development efforts.
  • Excellent skills in creating compelling content for the major social media platforms and web, and the ability to use design tools to produce visual assets like reels, GIFs, memes, graphics, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, development, and customer support, to align on strategies and messaging.
  • Experience in planning and executing community events and activations (e.g. industry events, giveaways, and feedback sessions) to foster community growth and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage and grow our player base across our community channels including, but not limited to, Discord, Reddit, and game forums.
  • Represent the player’s voice in internal discussions with project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with 2K’s Social team to ensure alignment and collaboration on schedules/upcoming beats, supporting content, key learnings, goals and reports.
  • Be a game expert. Invest the time to understand the game you manage to better serve our players and develop the community based on this knowledge.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on community sentiment across social and community channels to help partners understand major discussion drivers. Provide easily digestible and actionable feedback to help drive and maintain positive sentiment.
  • Highlight relevant feedback to marketing and production partners to help guide future communications, activations, and content.
  • Provide light moderation, focused on empowering positive voices in the community as brand advocates, and showing little tolerance for bullying, hate, threats, and discrimination.
  • Work with CS to have messaging ready for upcoming beats and expected challenges to ensure alignment and to direct players to the appropriate resources.
  • Report bugs, issues, and outages, while identifying solutions and advising on player messaging.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to build out 31st Union’s identity across our studio-owned social accounts, highlighting our people, our events, and our unique culture in order to attract new talent.
  • Engage in real-world conversations and trends on social platforms through dialogue and content that resonates with our target audiences.
  • Own the planning, preparation, execution, and analysis of community events and activations (e.g. feedback sessions, industry events, fan events, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of community management and social media marketing experience.
  • Availability to attend and capture on-site meetings, events, etc.
  • Impeccable writing /copywriting skills with a knack for tailoring content to specific audiences that also aligns with the studio’s tone of voice
  • Able to create visually compelling digital assets for social media
  • Have advanced knowledge of formatting/designing assets for specific social media platforms, e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Possess excellent graphic design and video editing skills, with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other Creative Suite applications
  • Possess strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and self-management skills
  • Experience with building content calendars.
  • A game-for-anything attitude, a can-do mindset, and the ability to thrive in collaborative environments
  • Previous games or entertainment industry experience is a plus, but not required

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,100 and $118,560 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
